7/9/2009 CONGRESSMAN CARNEY VOTES TO SUPPORT RURAL DEVELOPMENT, PROTECT PUBLIC HEALTH AND HELP STRUGGLING FAMILIES
  Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Carney voted for legislation that will boost northeast and central Pennsylvania’s rural economies, help feed struggling families, protect Americans’ food safety, and protect Americans against price fluctuations for basic necessities. The Agriculture Appropriations Act passed (266 to 160) and focuses on key priorities, such as: protecting public health: bolstering food nutrition programs; investing in rural communities; agriculture research; strengthening animal health and marketing programs; and conserving our natural resources. 7/9/2009 CONGRESSMAN CARNEY VOTES TO CREATE SMALL BUSINESS JOBS AND SPUR ECONOMIC GROWTH
  Washington, DC – Late yesterday, Congressman Christopher P. Carney voted to strengthen small businesses by improving and modernizing certain successful Small Business Administration programs.  With Rep. Carney’s support, H.R. 2965, or the Small Business Research and Innovation Act, passed with broad bi-partisan support (386-41). 7/8/2009 CONGRESSMAN CARNEY URGES FCC TO PROTECT RURAL INTERESTS IN NATIONAL BROADBAND PLAN
 Washington, DC – Recently, Congressman Carney along with the Congressional Rural Caucus, sent a letter to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) urging the agency to address the needs of rural America as it begins to develop a broadband strategy to provide universal access nationwide. Under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the FCC is required to submit a national broadband plan to Congress by February 17, 2010.  As a member of the Congressional Rural Caucus, Congressman Carney is dedicated to issues of specific interest to the rural communities of northeast and central Pennsylvania and across the country. ...more»
